Parametric model of a three-roll unit of radial-shear rolling mini-mill

The article discusses the main structural features of radial-shear rolling mini-mills and their most common sizes. A generalized algorithm for designing such mills using modern CAD systems is described. approaches to methodology software adaptive design models in engineering are listed with differences. In particular, horizontal modeling, explicit modeling methodology, resilient strategy considered. describes method virtual squeezes presents geometric scheme spatial position rollers longitudinal profile. data obtained as a result calculations were encoded summarized tables. formulas presented used parametric roller unit three-roller mill 30-70 Autodesk Inventor software. model, classical method, allows automatic reconstruction deformation zone new initial parameters. developed model applicable working roll angles δ = 5 – 15° feed β 18 22°. sketches diagrams constructed different 5, 10, 15°. As angle increases, noticeable increase conicity observed. vector future research on improving was indicated. Further will include expanding set existing parameters frame full connections neck, cover, pressing device, etc.
